There are several concrete rules to be careful as you observe a Southwestern credit carddepending on whether you want a personal card or business card. Here's what you need to know.

Currently all personal cards have Limited welcome offer. New card owners can earn 100,000 bonus points after spending $ 4,000 in the first three months of opening an account.
This bonus is worth $ 1,350, based on TPG's August 2025 assessment.
Two business cards have different welcome offers.
New owners of the southwestern performance business cards can earn 80,000 points after spending $ 5,000 in the first three months of opening of the account.
In the meantime, new premiere owners of southwestern premiere can earn 60,000 points after spending $ 3,000 on their purchase in the first three months of opening.
According to our estimates, these welcome bonuses are worth $ 1,080, or $ 810.

If you want to sign up for a personal card
Do you fulfill this as long as you adhere to the following criteria:
- Chase 5/24 rule: You will almost certainly be rejected for a credit card in the southwest if you have opened five or more credit cards in the last 24 months (from any publisher) excluding most business cards.
- Card “Family” restrictions: If you already had a personal card in the southwest, you cannot open another until you cancel or change your current card.
- Welcome Bonus rules: You cannot open the card if you have earned a welcome bonus from your personal card in the southwest in the last 24 months.
The note here is that the possession of a business credit card on the southwest or employee does not affect your eligibility for personal cards.
If you want to sign up for a business card
You are eligible for this as long as you are below 5/24 and complete the following rules:
- You cannot currently have a specific credit card.
- You cannot accommodate a bonus on that particular credit card in the last 24 months.
Logging for personal credit cards on the southwest has no effect on your eligibility for business cards, except for the fact that it occupies one of your 5/24 slots. More importantly, have any southwest Business Credit Card It does not affect your eligibility for another business card in the southwest.
