Cycling is one of the best ways to explore a new city – or just bypass its hometown. You may be dreaming of a cycling tour through Europe (I definitely am!) Or just want to make a daily journey more comfortable.
Regardless of your reason to ride, it is important to know how to stay safe and comfortable on two wheels. Follow these tips for bicycle safety to protect yourself.
Stay visible
Drivers cannot avoid you if I cannot see you, so make yourself (and your bike) as visible as possible. I love Kno's Blinder 1300 SetA powerful light set that allows you to see you from far away. The set includes the front light with a beam aimed at 1300 lumen that shines up to 390 feet, along with the back light of 150 lumen that keeps you visible on both sides.
The thread set is my journey to travel because the lights have a super long -term time (1.5 hours on full brightness and 120 hours at Eco Flash mode for the headlight and up to 50 hours for the rear light) and are waterproof. My favorite feature is LEDs with an intelligent button, which at first glance show the battery level.
The compact light set is also great for travel because it can be attached in a second without any tools. You can pack it and use it on a bike for rent.
Wear a helmet
If you follow only one advice from this list, let it be this one: always wear a helmet while bicycle rides. Your bicycle helmet should have a sticker indicating that it meets the standards of consumer safety of consumer products (CPSC) for cycling.
For my everyday trip, I carry this Modern helmet for a thousand. I like not only for his appearance, but also for a secret pop-lock that surely locks the helmet on your bike, so I don't have to wear it all day.
Elegant design is a lower profile than most helmets and comes in different fun colors (like pink gold or striped).
